Does the I-Tour Staff Compete in your tournaments?

NO.  We do not believe it is appropriate to compete in our own tournaments.  Rest-assured this is your Golf Tour and we are not here to win our own events.  We control the tournament format, pairings, and most of all handicaps.  While other tournaments may take a different approach, the I-Tour Staff WILL NOT, at any time compete during any I-Tour event.

May I Play in Houston or  Dallas I-Tour Events?

Yes.  All I-Tour Members are eligible no matter what city.  So if you live in the Dallas Area & you find yourself in the Houston Area one weekend, you may play in that Houston Event.  Or if you live in Houston and want to Road Trip to Dallas, you may play an event there.

Am I competing against everyone from 0-18 handicappers?

No, actually there are 2 Flights with two payouts schedules.  (Please see our Event Payouts).  While some tournaments combine all levels of play,  The I-Tour believes in separating members to two levels of play.  Flight A & Flight B.  All Flights have there separate payout matrix for each event.

May I play in both Flight B as well as Flight B for the same Event?

No.  We consider that double dipping.  You may only play in one Flight at a time for the Individual Golf Tour.

May I join the I-Tour at any time during the season?

Yes you can. Membership Fee will stay the same. All players will be subject to the Beginning Handicap Policy.  If you do not play in our first event of 2008, you will not be eligible for 1st place until your 2nd I-Tour Event.

I have a 10 handicap do I have to play in Flight B.

No you do not.  You can play in Flight A if you choose.  Remember that you must take the maximum handicap in flight A (9).

What does the tournament entry fee include?

The tournament entry fees will include, green fee, range balls, cart, prize fund, & sometimes lunch. Optional Game entry fee $25 for Flight A&B Skins game payable day of tournament, $25 for Deuces Wild Game.  Visit Tour Format for more information.

Can I join the I-Tour without any handicap information?

Yes you can. Players who send in their membership application without any handicap information are I-Tour Members. Yet, they WILL NOT be able to win any cash prizes until this information has been received by the I-Tour Staff.

Can I pay in advance for tournaments?

All players must pay in advance. The I-Tour has a process of allowing players to pay in advance for any number of tour events through our online entry process, or by faxing in the EVENT ENTRY form. There is a deadline for online entry. If Tour players want to register after the event deadline they must pay the $15 late fee.

Will cash awards be given the day of the event? Will all awards be cash?

Yes, checks will be printed the day of the events for all prizes. When players register early, this allows The I-Tour to financially run our events. All 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes for net score are a 100% cash payout. The I-Tour reserves the right to distribute a combination of cash & gift certificates for 4th-7th place prizes.

Is this a Walking or a Cart Tour? May I walk if I like?

The I-Tour is a Cart Tour. We do this for speed of play reasons. All I-Tour players must use carts.

Can my wife or girlfriend come ride and watch me play?

Yes, you are responsible for renting her a golf cart though.  And you must ride with other I-Tour Players not with your friend or spouse.

Why is my beginning Handicap lower than I expected?

Your Beginning Handicap calculation may be subject to adjustments by the Tour Director. In some cases your best score may be counted twice in the beginning calculation. Please contact The I-Tour at info@houstonitour.com for questions on your beginning handicap.

I’ve sent in an I-Tour Tournament Entry Form, I now will not be able to play in this tournament, what can I do?

You lose $20 if you pull out of a tournament after pairings are listed on the Website.  You will lose $40 if you pull out 2 hours or more of an event the day of.  You lose 50% if you cancel less than 2 hours before the event.  You will not receive any refund or credit if you are a no call no show for an event after your tee time has passed.  All tournament event entry fee’s are fully refundable if entry is canceled before pairing are listed on the website.

The USGA is very clear on its stance of Amateur status. Please visit their website at www.usga.org or call their district office. No illegal drivers, no illegal tees, etc. If there is any doubt that you will be disqualified for equipment, please contact  BEFORE you play an I-Tour event.

Is it the Houston Golf Tour, Dallas Golf Tour or the Individual Tour (I-Tour)?

It is not the "Houston Golf" tour. The Individual Tour (I-Tour) is a pro-style Golf Tour in Houston.  We just so happen to own the easy to remember www.dallasgolftour.com & www.houstongolftour.com URL's.
