Text Box: Houston National 8-11-07 Event

South Texas summer is finally here.  Temperatures reached triple digits on Saturday.  Extreme temps did not stop the Individual Golf Tour from having its 13th event of the season.

Woodward blows away the competition …

Steve Woodward blew way the competition on last Saturday winning by 5 shots.   Steve proved that it is not the size of the dog in the fight;  it’s the size of the fight in the dog.    Posting a gross 84 on the longest course in Houston I-Tour Flight B History.  When asked how did he do it Steve responded,” I don’t hit it far, I just hit the fairways.”  “The woods are full of long hitter.”  Behind Steve was I-Tour veteran David Hubbard, Eddie Robertson and Doug Hill.  Next time guys.

Flight A put to the test...
Flight A has never faced a golf course at long as Houston National, 7,500 yards.  Las Vegas had the odds at 72 to 1 that someone would post red numbers on Saturday.  I wonder if Paul Harris and Kenneth Moore bet on themselves of Saturday.  Both posted a net ,1 under par 71.    I knew that they could do it.  Harris won the event by a scorecard playoff on the #1 handicap hole.  Close behind our winners were Scott Key, Jeremy Pierce, and Thomas Woods posting 73’s.  Victor Huey and Jack Page were right behind our leaders posing a set of 74’s.  Just proving that every shot counts.
